Construction d'une interrogative indirecte

Dans une interrogation "directe", il faut inverser "auxiliaire" et "sujet" :

"Why is the policeman hiding?" = "Pourquoi le policier se cache-t-il ?"

"Where are you?" = "Où es-tu ?"

En revanche, il n'y a pas d'inversion dans une construction interrogative indirecte :

"He doesn't understand why the policeman is hiding." = "Il ne comprend pas pourquoi le policier se cache."

"I wonder where you are." = "Je me demande où tu es."
